Winning/Wining: same thing

My bestie Angela is here for my birthday so I booked us a super-awesome wine getaway with Vip Southern Tours for our tasting here in the North Georgia Mountains. If you ever have the chance to visit the North Georgia mountains, you are in for a treat. Not only is it the trailhead for the Appalachian Trail, but it’s a beautiful area filled with so many fun things to do. Whenever I have anyone visit me I try so hard to fit as many things as possible into their stay so that they can get a glimpse into this beautiful area and all the incredible things that makes this place so special.

Wine is one of those special about North Georgia. And its a good one. North Georgia’s wine country has boomed in the last decade and is only growing bigger. There is now more than a dozen beautiful wineries here, with plans to accommodate more in the near future, making this place an unforgettable wine destination in the South.

I have been waiting for an opportunity to try out a wine tour here, and Angela’s visit made the perfect occasion to dive right in.

Not only did VIP Southern Tours have a driver pick us up from my home and take us to four wineries over the course of the day, they also provided lunch and waters throughout the day. Our Driver, Don was wonderful. Often checking in on us, and setting the music to whatever we wanted and making sure we stayed on schedule so we could get the most out of the whole tour at each spot.

The Wineries we visited were:

Serenity Cellars

We really loved Serenity Cellars. We were told the highlight here was the Friday night local pizza nights with a live band. The man running the tasting, Stacy, was really informative about the area and their wines and even told us about all the new things Serenity Cellars was doing in the future: be prepared for lots more wines and lots of sunflowers, we were completely on board for both and pairing that with the Friday night music night, we can’t wait to go back again and again.

CeNita Vinyards

I have lucky enough before to have frequented this winery on two occasions before: once for my brother’s wedding to his beautiful bride, KC, and another time to celebrate my cousin turning 30 years old just this year. This winery is gorgeous, and the people running it are just wonderful. IMG_4066.JPG

Lunch was included and it was specialty made from Betty’s Country Store and served with the beautiful view at CeNita Vineyards. They did such a great job accommodating our diets (Angela is vegan, and getting her order done right was as seamless as ever)IMG_3337.JPG IMG_3341.JPG

Yonah Mountain Vineyards

These vineyards were spectacular. Not only was the wine wonderful, but the views were spectacular. We spent half the time here drinking wine, and the other half roaming the never ending vines with mountain views. Breathtaking place all around.

The Cottage Vineyards Winery

This was by far the best view. This place was nestled in a mountainside just outside of Cleveland, Ga and had spectacular views all around, especially of Mt. Yonah.

And because not one day goes by where Angela doesn’t make the world a better place, we went home and she helped in rescuing this giant Eastern Hercules Beetle we found, because she’s just that type of person. ❤
